Make 2019 YOUR Year

I find it fascinating that countless people mark January 1st as the day for new beginnings. But, let’s think about that for one second.

Can’t any day serve as the opportunity for new beginnings?

I understand that January 1st can act as the catalyst for change. And yes, if that is what it takes for someone to think about change then they are definitely moving in the right direction. However, here is some food for thought surrounding the first day of any given year.

Research reminds us that less than 25 percent of people actually stay committed to their resolutions after just 30 days. Meanwhile, only 8 percent accomplish them.

Now don’t get me wrong. I have no issue with people setting goals on the first day of a new year. I do, however, have an issue when people stray from their resolutions, return to a place of existing, and never return to those goals for the remainder of the year.

Let me get to my main point.

If you ever find that you want something in life then go get it. It doesn’t matter what the day is.

I really do hope that 2019 is your greatest year yet! And the reality is that it truly can be. You are the only person who is in a position of power and control over your own life.

If you find that you spending more time existing opposed to living, then I challenge you to leave your comfort zone, be vulnerable and take a risk.

Change is uncomfortable and it takes time. Through the process you will stumble, and you will fall. However, when I reflect on my personal struggles it becomes quite clear that roughly 5 percent of all my growth came from my successes, and 95 percent came from my personal experiences. (Note that I did not use the word ‘failures’)

Live large my friends! This is YOUR year.

Oh, and if you are feeling guilty about taking time for yourself then make sure to watch the video below.
